Our Providers

Dr. Rob Michel has lived in Charlottesville since 1980.  He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia.  He continued his medical training as a pediatric resident at the University of Virginia and served as the Pediatric Chief resident for the 1990-91 academic year.  Dr. Michel joined the Department of Pediatrics faculty for 8 years prior to opening Piedmont Pediatrics with Dr. Brantley in 2000.  Though he enjoys all aspects of General Pediatrics, he especially enjoys monitoring the growth and development of children and adolescents.  Free time is spent with his wife Ann and trying to keep up with his adult “children” and grandchildren.  Relaxing pleasures include reading, listening to music, cycling, hiking and cooking.
